Corpus – In the Corpus Christi Bar Association's 2012 Candidates' Preference Poll, Justice Gina Benavides was the clear choice in the 13th Court of Appeals, Place 5 race. More than 60 percent of the members that voted said Benavides should be re-elected to her current position on the court.
The association represents 653 lawyers in and around Corpus Christi. Members of the association were asked to vote on candidates in their respected court of appeals races, as well as district and local judge races.
Justice Benavides to Speak at the 26th Annual Advanced Civil Appellate Seminar
September 6 - The TexasBar CLE and the State Bar of Texas will be sponsoring the 26th Annual Advanced Civil Appellete Seminar this Thursday and Friday, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin. Justice Benavides is honored to be part of the event and will speak Thursday on the Court of Appeals Panel.
South Texas Mayors Support Gina Benavides
Brownsville Mayor Tony Martinez and Harlingen Mayor Chris Boswell join Edinburg Mayor Richard Garcia in supporting the reelection of Justice Gina Benavides.
As mayors they understand the importance of an efficiently run court system, and as veterans of our legal system they understand the importance of experienced jurists who apply the law fairly.
Austin – In the State Bar of Texas' 2012 Judicial Poll, Justice Gina Benavides was the clear choice in the 13th Court of Appeals, Place 5 race. By a more than 2 to 1 margin, members of the bar said Benavides should be re-elected to her current position on the court.
Members of the State Bar of Texas were given an opportunity to vote on candidates in their respective court of appeals races, as well as statewide races.

Judge Benavides named to Solutions 2012 Task Force by State Bar of Texas
Judge Gina Benavides, Thirteenth Court of Appeals, has been named to the Solutions 2012 Task Force. Formed by the State Bar Association of Texas, the task force has been developed to collect data and recommend potential solutions regarding issues particularly relating to indigent pro se litigants. Solutions 2012 was created to assist the Supreme Court of Texas with the shared mission of how best to provide our poorest citizens fair and just access to the Courts.
